That was the plan.

I'm just hoping it holds out till mid day so I can make it to work, get my car on our lift, put on the snows.

10-16? Weather.com says 3-5, which will probably mean more like 2. Then it will melt in another 1-2 days.

My bimmer stays in the garage when the snow falls.

I was fine in the snow. I saw a ton of of front wheel drive cars in the ditches. So much for people thinking only front wheel drive will do well in the snow!! How much did we actually get? I think I got about 6-7" in lake forest.

Just exploring these threads for the first time.
That morning was a hell of a drive to work. I couldn't even see the exit ramp from the Edens at 6am; I just went between a lightpost and an exit sign and figured the road was in the middle and I was right. As I rounded the first curve, I saw a current model Acura TL (fwd) in a ditch; I felt a little sorry, but let out a chuckle; no I cracked up. Even without snows (no sport pkg on this one) I was ok. Next car will have winter tires/wheels for sure.

i have driven my 335 only two or three times in feb. my 330ci could handle a little bit of snow, but this one can't handle any... and in the past I haven't been one to shy away from snow. luckily i have another car to drive.

i saw an e92 coupe that was on the side of the road (IL-53 near Woodfield) a few weeks ago, couldn't tell if it was a 328 or 335. It looked like it might have spun out or something, not quite sure, but there was a lot of snow on the ground. it made me feel a little bit better about leaving mine in the garage for a good part of the winter.

looking forward to spring, soon this craptastic weather will be over.

+1 ^ . My E46 330ci had better snow traction than my E92 335. Both of them have sports performace tires. I know sports tires are not intended for snowy conditions at all. But, if you live in Chicago, even if you try your best to avoid driving in snow, there's times you cannot help.

I'm planning to buy a set of winter tires. I will do it next fall - hopefully, we'll get rid of snow soon.
