Do Alpine White owners notice the lines on their E92?

Hi Everyone,
So as some may know I am awaiting the delivery of my E92 in Alpine White on Coral Red by the end of January.
This will be my first white car.
What i am trying to figure out here is if you people notice the beautiful E92 lines on a AW as much as you would on a Space Grey or a dark color.
You see to me the thing that makes this car a thing of beauty is it's sleek lines.
On the side/hood etc...
I have only seen one Alpine White in person and loved it when i saw it.
But the more i look at pictures it seems that you can see the definitions more on a darker color then on White...
Am i nuts? Can anyone who owns an Alpine White E92 comment?
I have so much time on my hands while waiting for my car to arrive that i'm going back and forth between colors and it's driving me nuts.
Thankx...

AW seems bland at first. But if you pay closer attention you will see the lines. It's very prominent just like the other colors. Dont worry about the color as you've made a great choice. Congrats on that car btw!

Thank you...
I think that's what i need. A little reassurance from people here...
It's a little bland are exactly my thoughts.. As compared to a metallic color i would say. Hopefully like you said it will grow me.

It's when i see those bmw pics of the space grey's that i drool...
You see the lines perfectly. But i guess those pictures are proffesional shots and no actual E92 looks like that in person...
Don't get me wrong i chose white because i thought it's a nice color that i've never owned so why not give it a try.
But in pictures it doesn't pop like the space grey ones...

As an owner of 2 AW cars I can tell you that I will probably stick to white my entire life.

Here's what I like about white that may not be as apparent.

1. White cars bring out the key elements in the car. in case of beemers the front grill, headlight, tailights.

2. White cars don't look good in the showrooms becuse showrooms are designed for dark cars. However in the real world the avera brightness of surroundings is on the darker side (asphalt, etc.) which makes white cars stand out.

3. There is white and there is white. For example the white on a toyota cambry looks like crap because it has to warmth to it. The Alpine White is a great color since it appears as very white on dark days and appears as creamy on very bright days.

All and all I my car defenitely stands out in the croud. And I can always see the lines of the car.

I am on my third AW BMW. Its a great color. It does not have the sparkle or pop of a freshly wdetailed metalic car, but looks great in its own way. You won't be disappointed.

+1. I love white cars. My current car is black, kind of bought it on the spur of the moment due to hearing how black cars are the greatest thing since sliced bread.
I'm without a doubt going to get an AW 335i, going back to my roots

I like white cars as long as they are white, not that almond or creme color like on the new Chrysler 300c's.

I'm a proffesional painter and can tell you that black or dark colors don't show at all the lines of any car, but less so those of the E90.

The silhouette of the E90 is not specially gracile but rather sturdy, and in a dark car, what you mainly apreciate is the external contour.

Light colors enhance the body in and outs, for instance the deep ridge along the body side, because you can see the shadow it produces. In a dark car that shadow -and others- is almost unnoticeable. You only see some grares if the car is clean and shiny and the light conditions appropriate: As in a showroom.

Please, don't worry about that and enjoy the multiple virtues of a light color.

I love white cars and counting down the days until I can dump my current car and move to a new car. My last car was black, a color I will NEVER get another car in. My current A4 is a Quartz Gray Metalic, which has turned me off on metallic paints for life. The black never stays clean and shows too much spidering on the paint in direct sunlight. Metalics are terrible for touching up when getting chips. To me white looks good and definitely shows more character of the vehicle. I can't wait till my lease is done, so I can move into a white wagon (no more sedans or coupes either).

Cheers,

Chuck

Wow....
Thank you people all these posts are really reassuring me.
It's just that waiting for a car 3 months is the worst thing in the world.
It makes you look around, second guess you choices etc...
Thank God for this forum

I agree with you about white on E92 as well as your color choices . All of my previous BMW's have been Jet Black, but I just didn't like the darker colors on the coupe. With white, the lines just show up better and in greater detail. I ordered black for my 545i to help hide the bangle-butt and strange cut lines, but on the E92, I enjoy seeing the lines on the car, which white or even Space Gray tend to show more IMHO.

I have an AW e90, and trust me pictures do not do the color justice. In person looks honestly 100x's better so dont get discouraged if you see some pictures that make you question your choice. Im sure it will be love at first sight when your car rolls onto the lot.

Isn't that true of every color?

At any rate, having had cars in red, blue, black, "champagne," silver, and now AW, I have to say this color is my favorite. I am so glad I went with it, against others' advice. It's not nearly as difficult to maintain as black, but needs a bit more attention than silver or old-lady champagne (sorry, but I had that color and that's about what it is.)

Bottom line, I think you'll love AW.

Well all the posts are surely making me feel that much better about my choice.
You see the problem is no dealer carries any Alpine White's in stock so it's practically impossible to see in person.
My dealer had a 328i E92 in Alpine White last week for delivery and i saw it and really wasn't that impressed.
I suppose that the fact that it had those ugly rims ( non sport package 328) no offense and the interior was grey, it didn't really stand out much.
But i'm sure the 335 AW with Coral interior and those nice 18's and dual exhaust will have a different effect on me.
And by the way JEFFNIN that picture is absolutely stunning. Congrats...

I have an AW with Coral Red and Gray Poplar. You will love looking out through the windshield at the white hood and seeing the red and black interior with your peripheral vision. The look of the red seats with the white car is real sporty.

IMO lines come out best on TiAg color or light metallic colors.
