paddle shifters are another $100 more if you have auto and the sport package.

paddle shifters are not needed with auto and sport package.

You sure? I mean, its kinda nice to have if you ever feel like shifting yourself everyonce in a while. And only $100 more. Ah well

The paddle shifters are probably the biggest bang for the buck bargain option, ever.

Thats what I'm saying. A $100 option and BMW, I wouldn't pass that up.

Not so fast; go try them out (again, if you've already test driven a 335i Auto w/ Paddle Shifters). During my test drive, I thought...hmm, these paddle shifters are awkward b/c it's not left paddle for downshift and right paddle for upshift, but now, I think the 335i paddle shifters are very intuitive (both paddles -- push with your thumb to downshift and pull from the back of the paddle with your ring and middle fingers to upshift).

I use my paddle shifters in DS mode (ManuMatic Sport mode) exclusively, and I've never even used the gear shifter to shift in DS mode. The 335i Paddle Shifters are awesome! They're definitely worth the extra $100, imho!

+1

not that I actually have a 335i, but just considering BMW's prices for their other options and accessories ($1k-$2k+ more for sport or package, or even nav), $100 is a steal for what sounds like a great add-on (again, since I haven't actually used them myself).

This definitely seems like a no brainer option for only 100 dollars. BUT, i know that most people get the sport package, but some people dont really want the sport package. I personally dont see the sport package as a must have option, so for me to get the paddle shifters, i would have to spend another, what, 1,300 dollars? i might pass on both these options...

They are definitely great fun with the steptronic transmission because shifts are so fast. Two quick taps to change down 2 gears rapidly and the acceleration is exhilirating! I'm sure you can get your dealer to throw in paddle shifters as they are only $100US

If you're getting auto + sport pkg, get the paddles, don't skip them. So many people here want them and they either neglected to order them or have an unsupported model.

Plus, down the road, it'll be an extra feature when / if you decide to sell the car.
