Denver meet, Thursday 4/29, 7:00 PM

Figured I'd make a separate thread for this. For those of you in and around Denver who want to meet up, here are the details:

When: Thursday May 29th, 7:00 PM
Where: Rock Bottom Brewery at the Westminster Promenade (Highway 36 and 104th).
Why: To check out each others' cars and have some beers.

The parking lot at the Promenade can get pretty packed, but there are usually plenty of spaces by the Caribou Coffee where we can park by each other. Hopefully the weather will be nice, but we can postpone if necessary.

Good idea on the seperate thread so that the details are clear.

Is the plan to wait at the lot until everyone shows up, or should we look for each other at the bar?

I figure it's easier to hang out in the lot for a little bit initially. It will be a lot easier spotting cars than people.

I can't make it to this meet, I guess I'll have to wait for the next one.

Looks like there is only two of us going? Should we try on a different day?

Sounds good. Maybe in two or three weeks then? The weather should be fairly nice then as well.

Hey everyone, moving to Denver in 3 weeks. I only know one person there, so def would like to meet up at some point. Also, everyone is telling me I should sell my 1er and get an STI or EVO...how bad is the 1er there in the winter?

I'm from Texas, so we're not used to that white stuff falling from the sky so much, haha!

I live in Colorado Springs, but originally from Texas(Houston) as well. With the STOCK RFTs, I didn't have to bad a time with the winter. I just drove slow, and left all nannies on. I now have all-seasons on and is much better. You don't NEED a STI or Evo for the winter up here. Just don't drive like a ruh-tard in the winter and you'll be all right. GL.

You will definitely want some sort of winter tires on the car when it starts snowing. I've been caught in the snow with the summer tires on my WRX and even with the AWD, it was downright scary. Winter tires are key, which should allow you to get around without much trouble. We do get the occasional blizzard along the front range which can deposit snow on the roads faster than the plows can remove it. The 1er may have clearance issues on days like that, but it is nothing to get too worried about. If you are going to head up into the mountains frequently to ski, then you may want to consider getting a dedicated winter car.
