RDS? display of radio station and song info

ok i just got my car for a few days and i noticed that when listening my local music station 102.7, the stereo automatically shows the radio station name KIIS-FM and the current song playing "Black Eyed Peas..".

however i noticed that this screen often gets stuck displaying the same song even tho the song has ended and the next song has come on. this morning when i started the car, the correct song info was displayed but it stayed there for the whole day. eve now when i turn on the radio, it still shows the same song. i've tried switching off RDS and PTY and reactivating it and it still shows the same info. does this sound like something's wrong with the radio or is it just the radio station?

Does it happen with all the radio stations? If it does - then probably something wrong with your radio. Maybe a trip to the dealer can help.

My RDS doesn't even work at all, so you're one up on me, haha

Sometimes depending on the signal strength of the radio station the song displayed might just stay or the display would be kinda messed up. That would happen to me on my old car.

do you have iDrive?

I have iDrive & the RDS doesn't seem to work for me at all. I'm also located in Southern California. Anyone has RDS working with the iDrive system? If so, I'll have to make a trip to the dealer.

i don't have i drive.

today i drove around town all day and the RDS was working for every song on kiis fm. i haven't tried any other stations as many don't seem to use RDS but i can try next time. still not sure if it's the radio or the headunit.

Alright, looks like the RDS is not available for the iDrive vehicle yet. Here is the thread that discuss this.
