A couple of random HDRs

I'm new to HDR so be kind. I slapped these together on Friday using a program caled 'qtfpsgui'.

I don't fully understand a lot of the variables since the documentation is limited but here you go. I like the one with the beer glass which is the least tone mapped - then they get progressively more tone mapped.

They are all made up of either 5 or 7 images.

HDR in the true sense is about creating a shot that is normally impossible for a camera to take. When the contrast between your subject and bg is too great, parts of the photo are either way under or overexposed. HDR imaging is about creating an image in that scenario where everything is exposed well. Personally, I think understanding that is key to creating nice HDR images. What you are doing really is just tonal mapping. It in itself can be considered artistic, but figured I'd throw my 2 cents in about HDR. HDR photos get a bad rap because most falsely associate it with over-saturated tonal mapping.

Yes!! These are my thoughts on HDRs as well. I don't try to make any artistic/ dramatic effects in my HDRs. I aim to bring out details in the shadows while eliminating blown-out highlights. The grunge effect is terrible in my opinion.
