Everything went well....only one glitch is that Zaino ZCS..left a bit of a haze that took effort to get out -- which it shouldn't. It meant I was using a lot of friction to get the ZCS haze out. The finish is like a mirror, and the car is now protected for 6 mo at least.

ZCS does that when it's put on too heavy. Very thin coats is the key

I think you should have finished it with a coat of wax...from the pics, it doesn't look extraordinary. Needs some more depth which only wax can provide.

Hmm...my primary goal is protection...with zaino, looks came 2nd.

I hear you, you might be right; I thought it was pretty shiny. Thing about wax is...it wears off too quickly for me to bother with it. You're prob right though.

I think it looks good. Perhaps in more sun it would have more "pop" or depth or whatever. Nice work.

One of the best features of zaino is that each zaino product can be layered on top of each other, and each layer chemically bonds to the layer below.
I do not believe you can put any wax or ANY other selant of another brand if you want to use the zaino system of products.

IMHO the OP camera probably did not really show how good the car looks.
I have used zaino exclusively on my space grey 335 for over two years.
When done correctly you do not need or want to use anything else.

Lastly, after all that work - I hope the OP followed zaino instructions exactly.
I believe you cannot apply more than 3 coats of any zaino product within a 24 hour period. these are sealants and need to harden....
AND to be able to correctly put more than 1 coat of any zaino product on in a 24 hour period you need to use the special zaino hardener (forgot the actually name).

I think the zaino "hardener" if I remember correctly us also an accelerator called zx or zfx.

Sorry, but this is not true. Many people (including me) use Zaino and finish with a wax for more depth. Of couse, you can't use wax in the middle of the process, but to finish with a coat of wax is perfectly acceptable.

I found out the Z2 Pro + ZFX as a finishing layer does not give me the looks and slickness I want on my white car. I need to use wax to give that depth and repel dust the best. But believe me, I would love to skip the wax for another Zaino product Will try the Z8 soon, I really hope it can provide that wetness and paint slickness a wax provides.

If as advertised, each zaino layer truly does bond with each zaino layer below it - Imho you should not interrupt multiple layers of zaino with another brank of wax.

If you have not used the z8 try it !
I use the z2 only as a BASE wax for protection.
Then, a day or 2 later I use The z8. This should give u the wet look u want.
And then 1 or 2 days later you can put on what zaino calls the car show finising liquid (I think the name is) zcs.

Unless I am using the zfx acelerator - I find that waiting at least 2 days between zaino layers gives me the best results.

This is my experience with a space grey 335. Other colors may be different ?
