I need a spare key for a 2009 VW Passat

Dealer is trying to rape my for the price of a new keyfob. Is there a way around this? I need a spare key, my wife lost the spare

Is there a place I can buy the key and just have them program it to the car? I dont want to pay the stupid price for this "key"

Wow, good luck. VW keys cost about $500 to buy from the dealer. Lot of money for a switchblade.
