Ordered a Euro Del F10 550i today
Finally, (with a lot of information gathered from this board) I ordered a Euro Del 550i from John Wolff at East Bay BMW (one email from me, one email from him accepting my offer) as it should be.
Confirmed pick up date: July 30, 2010 Options: Exterior color: Sophisto Grey Interior: Black Dakota with Brown wood trim 205 Steptronic 2TB Sport Automatic ZP2 Premium Package 2 ZSP Sport Package ZCW Cold weather Package ZDA Driver Assistance Package ZDH Dynamic Handling Package 2VH Integral Active Steering 775 Anthracite Headliner I will miss the Carbon Black and I am dissappointed that I will not have an M package, but I can't change the timing. What is really the best part, I am taking my 15yo son with me to Germany, his first time, we will be there for 3 weeks. My itinerary will take us from Munich to Austria, Switzerland, Black Forrest, to the North Sea, Berlin and then to a small village in the Rhineland just west of Frankfurt before dropping the car off in Frankfurt. This is my 3rd Euro Del, but first time at the WELT. Last edited by kenhamm; 04-26-2010 at 06:47 PM.. |

Congrats on your order and ED!! Be sure to take a lot of photos and share with us who aren't quite so lucky to be picking up an F10 in Europe.

Thanks, my significant other is German and lives in that area, we will be traveling together ending up in his village just outside of Bad Kreuznach. I love that area and spend a lot time there. You will have one of the only 550i's in your area I imagine, LOL, most Germans would opt for the 535i, gas prices and all. So it will be awesome for you, a lot of looks. I love my 550i, that rumble of the engine when you first start the engine is something I never get tired of hearing.

We have done the BMW Welt delivery on 2 past occasions and will be doing another this October. It's tremendous. Be certain to give yourself ample time to walk around and take in all the displays and exhibits, and the savor the entire experience. They do an exceptional job with these deliveries. And owing to the German penchant for punctuality, arrive at the check in counter a few minutes early. The only gripe I had is that with ED's in the "old days" (70's & 80's at Freimann), cars were always delivered "volltank". Congratulations to you!

Yes you are right, even in my 2008 535 there arent many around, when I take it to my German detailer he always raves about it being there. My wife and I joke around about what he is going to do when I pull in with a 550. If i had to pay local gas prices I wouldnt own a 550 either, luckily I have access to the US bases in Germany so I get almost US prices on gas. I have learned where the last Esso (have fuel agreement with US bases) stations are so I can fuel up before crossing the borders. Rented a Citroen C6 last week to drive from Vienna to Frankfurt (got stuck with the volcanic cloud) and cost 70 Euro to fill it up from just under 1/4 tank. By the way, the Citroen C6 is probably the worst attempt for France to compete at a luxury car, to think the rental agent sold me with "the prime minister drives this"!
