Am I the first Montego Blue E92 335i in Australia?
My car docks in Sydney Port Botany on Thursday. I've yet to find a dealer with an E92 in this colour as apparently production of Montego Blue didn't start in Germany till September. Can't wait to set eyes on it, but I'm told that will be minimum 10 days from vessel arrival.Aaargh!!

I think you might be. But you are definately the only montego blue member in Aus section of this forum. Congrats on your new baby. Don't be shy with some pics mate.

Well my M/blue arrived Sydney 13/11. Delivery is organised for Friday this week. I am concerned the colour may be over the top but have ordered cars in the past without seeing the colour sample and have had no regrets.Yet!

Rats! Beaten by a week! I'm kind of hoping it is a bit over the top . What I do notice is that it is very difficult to reproduce accurately in print. I have three or four magazine articles with M/Blue E92's and every one looks quite different. Some look just like a strong blue, others show a distinct purple/violet tinge. Ditto for web M/Blue photos ( and also, incidentally, for the jade grey interior I've ordered. Good luck with your delivery. Blues Rule! |

Its interesting two car carrier loads arrived so close together.
I was also lead to believe the car would arrive earlier. So be it now. I went for the beige interior mainly because i have had black interiors in my cars for as long as i can remember. Also ordered, without sunroof and 6 speed. This is my first BMW moved from a Volvo S60R which was a great car. |

Sounds great - Please post photos as soon as possible!
I've heard of montego blue being available in 323i Coupe in OZ but not in 335i! |

The Volvo S60R is a decent bit of kit, but I think you will be blown away by the fluidity of the BMW handling, and especially its uncorrupted steering. This will be my second Bimmer. I had a sport suspended E46 325i before my RX8. I love the little Mazda, but missed the finish and build quality of my E46, plus I decided it was time I finally drove a car with some serious TORQUE |

Thanks for that Nick.
So I guess I have only about 3 or so months wait until the 320d arrives. It'll be my first ever diesel and mate im telling ya it better be worth the wait! Im not usually one to jump on the bandwagon but crickey BMW diesel's really do have some pull! Was an automatic choice over the 320i/323i for me personally. |

Good call on the 320D. A very complete car for the modern era! I like BMW diesels too. Without BMW's extensive diesel turbocharging experience I doubt there would be a turbo 335i! |

I agree, the 335i is in a class of its own when you lool at the performance, fuel economy, everyday drivability and overal value for money. Im actually a Porsche fanatic but having driven the 335i what more could you ever want?
Dare I say it but I think I'd rather a 335i over a Boxster S or Cayman. |

335i colour swap
Thanks; Ive had an offer to swap the car for a space grey. I declined the offer. Second choice would be black and car had 16 klms at pickup.(please don"t tell me it should be lower),
Mudflaps were installed this afternoon and looks fine. I will have a good read of the manual to-night must come to grips with voice recognition. |

Nice pix Recruiter. I reckon the colour looks great ( but then I would say that wouldn't I!). Good luck keeping the carpets clean though ( black floormats maybe??) - that's the only downside to the lovely beige interior! And of course good to see a 335i with the RIGHT transmission!

Congrats mate, i definately think as time goes on the colour will grow on you. I really love the colour personally it's a what i like to call a genuine blokes sports colour (black is as well). Nice pics. Tell us how the ride is on runflats cos im not sure if i should option for 19inch rims with runflats. Does the RF's bother you on roads that can cause tramlining or roads with pot-holes?

Runflats
Recently drove a 130i and did not like the tramlining it was very noticable. However, athough i have now completed some 800 klms i have not experience the same affect. (I hope i do not have to eat my words) May be the 130i had high tyre pressures.
So i am pleased with the ride, was expecting worse. The ride is a lot smoother than my previous Volvo S60r. Having said that the ride can be still on the hard side when a number of far sized bumps are encountered. 19" wheels may be slighty worse, and could make it uncomfortable over gaps in the road surface. Tough decision. |
