Constant Squeaking

The pat few days, I've noticed that my suspension squeaks when I'm traveling at low speeds (under 15mph)
goes away when I break... goes away when I press the throttle.

I have stock suspension.

At first, I thought maybe the canyon drive caused it, but it's been happened repeatedly and I haven't gone back on the canyons.

My rear is completely stock suspension wise... (rims and 20mm spacers are the only difference actually)

Any ideas...?

Thanks

I had a similar issue but it was my rear brake pads. Only squeaked when at low speeds and went away when I applied the brakes

my first thought was brake pads too. Doesnt the computer monitor them? Seems early for new brakes anyway.

The brake pad issue is something that can be fixed, did the op curb the car at all? not saying you are a bad driver, just wondering if it could have been due to anything else other than the brakes.

I had a little squeal at 5-10 mph then it would go away, I took it in b/c I thoght it was the brakes, the SA took my car replaced the brakes. Now it makes 2 noises, when I brake its making noise and the original noise that I had sent it in for is still there......

now im thinking its more of an axle problem, since it makes the original problem noise only when I turn right at low speeds, and I just replaced my original zsp suspension to KWv3's and the noise is still there.

Also check your control arms and make sure the main nuts are tightend properly, sometimes they start to come loose and you wanna make sure its tight.

my car is at 136xx miles so I'm a little surprised for the brakes to be dying...

I'm taking her in this friday (hopefully) for a bunch of stuff

lets see if it's the pads...

its the brakes... same as my car...

/rant here

squeals after the brakes are released for up to 15 mph.

bmw says its normal under braking and they will replace the brakes after they wear to a certain level....

UH IM NOT BRAKING when it makes noise.

/rant off

my dealer has this shot since they've been good in the past after that I'm contact BMW NA to discuss the problem and how it makes the bmw look like a POS especially when driving customers around.

im getting frigging tired of hearing your brakes are squealing, you need to get them replaced... uh its not my brakes its a defect... the brakes are fine... kinda pathetic for a bmw to sound like this. uh yeah i know *shrug*

GRRRR

My 330 was in service more then 3 times with the same issue - first 2 times - they change break pad. Last time they found that device, that monitor break part get broken some how and touching disk. They replaced - and it's squeaking again. Take back next week.

Well, I bring back my 330 again - squeaking on the right side with no break applying at speed < 10mph
Get 328 as a loner.

I had a similar issue with mine. They replaced both the pad and sensor to fix the issue (even though my pad didn't need to be changed), so that the new sensor wears with the new pad.

I hope they will do the same to me. with only 3 month left to my warranty expired - the more the fix right now - the better for me!

I have the same issue at low speeds. It happens even more when the wheel is slightly turned (maybe 10 degrees off center). From the sound, placement, and time it is happening it seems hard to believe that its the brakes. The brakes do their own squeeking when I slow down slowly (but only sometimes) and its definitely a different noise. This is more of a high pitched noise. I don't know what the hell it is but I'm going to try and sweet talk a dealer into giving me a loaner and when I drop it off mention all the squeeking.

It's an off-chance, but it's happened to a few of us -- check your hood latches. There are 3 of them right, left, and center, and if one is broken or missing, it will cause a devilish squeak when you are moving slow enough to hear it. It was driving us crazy, until the service valet at the dealership said to me "your hood looks like it's not latched down." Sure enough, the right side latch was broken. Fixed it, no more squeak.
