Clay Question!

I think I'm about to place an order for a PCXP with all the sonus polishes, pads etc . However the kit from autopia doesn't come with a clay. Can anyone recommend a really good clay bar that actually works well. Ive used the Zaino z16 clay bar and to say the least its a Piece of shit . Ive also used Clear Kote fine grade clay bar and its not to great either. Is the Sonus clay any good? And if not i was thinking about going for the Griots .

megs blue and red
claymagic blue and red (little more agg. than megs IMO)
sonus grey is really hard on the paint, but good for overspray
never used the sonus green, but someone said it will still leave you with some wax protection its so light (whats the point then)

Have either of you guys tried griots though? I've use both clay magics and the red works great but it's so aggressive that I'm always apprehensive to use it on a nice car. An the blue works well for a mild clay but I'm looking for power in between the blue and red. A griots clay kit for like 30$ has 8 ounces of clay and a detail spray that's a pretty good deal if u ask me

I've been using Griot's clay for the past 10 years. It works great and comes in a container with a lid, a large amount of clay and doesn't stick. I use it with Griots Speed Shine. Great combo. I've used it on Audi's brilliant black and BMW's jet black. Not sure how it compares in price to the other clays but when something works perfectly why change it.

I find that its really weak and any bit of stubborn over spray it simply doesn't remove.

+1, the weakest clay I've ever used. That said, it would work well for people that like to clay every other week.

I second the Griots clay. Make sure to get plenty of Speedshine; it is great stuff. You can use it for other things around the house too. I'd get one of the gallon jugs and keep refilling a spray bottle (especially considering the cost to ship stuff from them, you might as well get excess).

Detailer's clay not working sounds like wrong choice of abrasive grade and / or incorrect application methodology used
