More pics of my F10
After 1 week of ownership I thought I would post more pics and give you an update...
The most impressive things are the 8 speed sport auto gearbox; it changes really quickly and smoothly. If you want to change differently, the paddles instantly do what you command (unless it would mean revs too low etc). If you do not use them again, it keeps the gear but reverts back to auto mode. Brilliant. Economy is really impressive; 48 mpg on a run at 80+ mph; this is dropping now to 44 mpg with more town driving. Little things like the rear occupant seat belt alert is cool. When you start up, there are 3 red occupants displayed. If there is a seat belt fastened in the rear, the appropriate red man changes to green with a selt belt on. I have posted below more pics; note the sealing around the engine - presumably for noise (which is clearly very effective). I have also shown the hinges and bonnet (hood) catches - a feat of engineering in their own right! Also, note the warning signs under the bonnet

Hi, can you assist me about the rims for the F10 as I have been searching all over but cannot seem to find the answer. Can the 19 inch M5 style 166 rims on the e60 fit the f10 ? Does anyone know the offset for the rims for F10 ? Thanks a zillion

When the car hits a pedestrian, the bumper hits the pedestrian knee-high and the the pedestrian flies into the air and lands on the hood and windscreen. As the hood is quite soft the pedestrian will also hit what's under the hood. Usually the engine block. With an active hood that raises itself a few inches before impact the injuries can actually be reduced quite a bit. Citroën had a model a few years ago which I think was the first with an active hood. Remember that in the EU, cars and pedestrians share the same space in traffic much more than in e.g. the US. |

Yes, as posted above it is due to the pedestrian safety system. Both the locking catches and the hinges are a feat of engineering. Hope I never have to use them

Sorry do not know. I have some winter wheels from my E60, but do not know if they will fit either. If you find out, let me know!

No it does not, but handling is fine. I have not pushed it hard yet, so I can't really comment on how it copes with rough surfaces whilst cornering

Hi all, I’ve done a search but can’t find the meaning of VDC. Does this refer to dynamic drive control or damper control pls?
Hi Rich, your model has the sport/normal button (which I understand is the dynamic drive control?) from the photo in your other post. Can you please let me know whether the drive is significantly different between these 2 drives? I understand the 8 speed automatic sports steptronic transmission itself can be shifted into sports mode. How is this different from pushing the button into sport function? I ask this as I’m considering whether to obtain the dynamic drive control option. The standard 535 has the 8 speed automatic sports steptronic transmission which can be moved to sports mode, but not the dynamic drive control which is an option. Thanks. |
