335d - almost out of warranty

my 2007 335d is out of warranty at the end of June

What should i be wanting to make sure is right........????

I already know about the boost hose and getting that renewed to the new part/seal

Our alarm guy came up this afternoon with his 535d and said that he had a problem with a "breather" on the engine which blocked up and made £10k's worth of damage - luckily it was under warranty........ 2 new turbos, complete exhaust system etc etc
What would this have been - as i want to get mine checked/changed just in case.........

What else is there to make sure is right????

Bloody hell. I'd extend it if at all possible. The extended warranty from BMW is very good and competetively priced.

As you have already experienced, BMW turbo's can be sensitive. Do you really want to run the risk?

10k worth of damage?!
Thick sod. If the car had a blocked breather to an extent it would wreck engine and turbos the performance would have been shocking for a while. Did he not notice before it was too late!?

Are you hoping to get the dealer to check those things? could be worth saying performce is down, but you know they will just drive and tick no fault found....

Echo above - get the extended warrenty

@dxb - not sure! only met the guy twice............

I phoned BMW about the warranty and they quoted about £850 for the full coverage warranty

I've heard people say other places will do it about £400.......... Where? Any places you guys used/know about?

Is the oil breather prob along the lines of the breather clogs up and creates a build up of pressure within the motor/sump/head which in turn puts extra pressure on the turbo's........?

I thouhgt Full warranty was about £400. There used to be an additional premium for cars over 60k miles. How many miles has yours covered ??

I wouldn't be overly concerned with E9x reliability - I'm cautious but I have no warranty cover on my 40mth old 330d.
