Too good to be true ...?
Hello… I am in the process of selling my 2006 325i. My posting on Craigslist attracted an email from I TRUST MOTORS [www.ITRUSTMOTORS.com], based in Las Vegas. They claim to easily get you book value. This seems too good to be true and it prompts me to think, what’s the catch ? So, has anybody first hand experience of this outfit ? Thanks. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34754 |

Looks to me like an outfit that just does all the work for you in selling your car. Try selling it yourself and then you will not have to pay these people.

Yeah I'd try to sell it yourself for at least a few weeks. Every time I post my ass on Craigslist I get the same email from a similar sort of company, you pay a few hundred bucks and they sell it for you. I got pissed actually cause they sent me like 5 emails so I wrote them back and told them to fuck off. They haven't written back since, I just hope I dont actually end up needing them hahah.

When I sold a car via autotrader I'd get 4 or 5 calls a day from "brokers" that would sell the car for me. Uh .... didn't I already post it for sale myself since it's on Autotrader?
I suspect all they're doing is taking the car to auction. The "book" most dealers threw my way when I tried to trade it in was that week's auction results. So technically they're getting you "book value" right? That being said, if you're in the market for a lease return and aren't afraid to cover repair costs (or the cost of your own aftermarket extended warranty) you can use a broker to get some awesome deals at auction. |

Thanks for the input, gang. Clearly, I’m going to pass on them.
I just placed the car on Autotrader yesterday. Let’s see. The company will pay for transport, which is great. However we have two cars and our plan is to live downtown, so one will get sold. Mine |
