lol....i found it accidentally today.
For ppl want to have chinese song title display...just set language as "Japanese". Even though it is Japanese, the audio head unit can display about 80% of chinese characters.

Just want to share with u guys.

Does this make all the other menu items japanese? hmm.. may have trouble switching back if I can't read the stuff.

does it decode other languages (other than jap and chi) when in japanese mode?

On my iDrive screen, I didn't find Japanese language. Only English/Spanish/French....

How many languages does non-iDrive head unit support?

yep, I just checked my iDrive... dont have japanese as an option ... so i guess people with iDrive wont be able to display chinese then?

This turns out to be one of the few drawbacks of having iDrive, it seems.

Good find Ivan, but for us iDrive guys.. we won't be able to take advantage of this.

Next time I go back to Taiwan I will check out a Taiwanese E9x iDrive and see how good is their Chinese support.

yea...it only works in "LIST" mode.
