ALLOY WHEEL REPAIR

With an extensive background in metalurgy, Proformance Industries specializes in the structural repair of highline alloy & magnesium wheels.

Bent wheels are straightened using proprietary techniques and equipment resulting in a total runout of lesss than 10 thousandths of an inch, industry acceptable levels are within 20 thousandths of an inch. these results are reached without machining the beads as most other alloy wheel repair companies do.

Cracks and/or gouges are TIG welded by our master welders. Utilizing CAD CAM technology, all welds are CNC machined back to OEM specs.

The refinishing process is completed by our powder coating experts. Our innovative processes guarantee our customers the absolute best alternative to buying a new wheel.

POWDER COATING

Powder coating is an environmentally safe electrostatic refinifhing process. It is the ultimate finish for high wear parts such as wheels, chassis, swingarms, engine parts and suspension components.

Powder coat has approximately 10 times the tensile strength of most liquid paints, thus making parts less prone to chipping and/or wear.

Proformance industries is commiitted to providing its customers with the highest quality Special Effects Powder Coating on the market. With our proprietary techniques, we offten times provide results that exceed expectations. When powder coating, things like moving parts, mounting surfaces and two tone effects are taken into consideration to achieve an original factory finish that is more durable as well as custom looking,

We had the pleasure of building this custom PF-M8 wheel for Mark Pjetri's BMW M5 V10. Since the car is black and has the tinted tail lights, and blacked out grills, we felt it would be best to keep the "Murdered Out" theme going. With that being said, we went with a matte black/gloss black combo for these wheels. We wanted to go as aggressive as possible while still maintaining drive-ability, so we built a 20x10 and 20x9 staggered setup. The rims are wrapped in one of the best performance tire on the market, the Michelin Pilot Sports PS2. Needless to say, Mark was BLOWN AWAY by the new look of the car with these aggressive yet classy wheels.

*Due to the rain, we delayed his photo shoot until next week. But in the meantime here are a few photos we snapped when we installed the wheels. Check back next week for quality images!

This CLS came in the shop in need of some serious work! We started with the wheels. If you take a look at the "before" pictures you will see the extent of the damage to the outer lip. We decided to give the wheel a make-over and go with something a little different. We kept the centers of these Lowenhart wheels in the original chrome finish. We decided to go give the lips a gloss black finish, which would really compliment the black accents on the car such as the tinted tail lights and blinkers on the mirrors, which we also just finished. The wheels were also straightened and wrapped in a brand new set of Pirelli PZero tires.

On to the brakes... The OEM calipers are just too plain and boring. They were begging for some attention, and we here at Proformance Industries know that attention to detail is a must! We removed the calipers and decided to go with a gloss black finish. But before that, we added a nice touch with the AMG designation. The wheel and caliper combo came together just right!

On to the audio.... This car came in with a custom audio system installed. The owner was having issues with the music cutting out. After some troubleshooting, we concluded the cause of the problem was the amplifier heating up due to a lack of ventilation. We went ahead and installed a few fans and created some exhaust openings. In the process, we also noticed the lack of bass in the cabin. We decided to create a port from the trunk into the cabin. This totally changed the sound and quality level of the bass, an overall improvement!

We also installed a DOT Emergency lights strobe kit along with a yellow top battery to accommodate all the added electronics in the car.

Needless to say, the owner of the car was blown away when he got a look at the car!

Instead of fixing those wheels, which dont look good on that car (CLS55), he should buy nicer ones and sell the Lowenharts to Calphalon to make some pots and pans.

This Hummer H2 has undergone a complete make-over. We started with the basics and ended up creating a monster!

We wanted to make this H2 stand apart from the rest. So we went with a mix of matte and gloss black. The wheels are custom made, 1-off, 26" ProForged. The centers are matte black, and the lip is gloss black. If you take a look at the rest of the car, you will notice we stuck with this theme throughout. We powdercoated every chrome piece on the car and gave it a mean look! We also added a Borla exhaust system, a cold air intake, xenon headlamps, and more.

This H2 is awaiting a Brembo Big Brake Kit, and a supercharger system. Updates to follow, stay tuned!

those 3 star Lowenharts are by far the ugliest wheels I have seen in the last 10 years. Thats crazy that there is someone, somewhere rocking 3 star rims still.

By the way, is that even a CLS 55? because those calipers (before pictures) look like a regular 500 or 550 calipers!

The customer had this car "customized" by Unique Autosports in NY. It came to us for the wheel repair and audio problems which we corrected. And you are right, good eye, double checked the invoice, this car is NOT a true CLS55AMG. The wheels were not of our choice either! No pun intended to anyone still rocking those wheels!

We can customize just about any wheel with an assortment of colors and finishes. Here are just a few examples of some of the jobs we have taken on over the past several months.

Car Domain link by Mike Musto

"The Dodge Challenger has been out for almost two years now and the response has been nothing short of spectacular. The Dodge boys hit the nail on the head when they took the essence of the 1970 Challenger and re-sculpted it into the new modern form we know today. Customizers were quick to jump on it, putting their own personal touches on Dodge’s beautiful design. In fact, last year at SEMA, there were no fewer than fifty custom Challengers present.

Located in New Rochelle, NY, Proformance Industries is a company that is quietly making a name for themselves by crafting and manufacturing some of the coolest one-off wheels to ever roll on pavement. You see the owner, George Gjokaj, is a certified car nut. And I’m not talking about a little hazelnut here. The man is a master of mechanical thought and implementation. One of his new creations is the 2009 Dodge Challenger you see here. Oh, and by the way, this particular Challenger was commissioned by Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees. You know, the guy who’s considered to be the greatest closer in baseball history.

The original idea behind this Challenger was to create something that hadn’t been seen before, something that was original, but in completed form stayed true to the Challengers roots, both as a road-going street car and as a vintage Trans-am racer. The car, per Mr. Rivera’s instructions, also had to be docile enough to drive every day and handle New York City traffic. Not an easy task when you’re starting off with a car that comes stock with 425 horsepower. This is where George Gjokaj and the boys at Proformance Industries really stepped up to the plate.

A 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 was obtained and immediately disassembled. From there a plan was formulated and set into motion that would take the Challenger from a stock SRT-8 to a one-off Proformance original

The most obvious modification came by way of widening the body a full three inches. Keep in mind this is no easy task, nor is it a kit. George knew that he did not want to disturb the overall lines of the Challenger, because let’s face it, they’re pretty damn good. He did however want to make the body more aggressive and give it a wider stance. The front fenders were dealt with first by inserting functional cooling ducts behind the front wheels. Then, following the existing body lines, Gjokaj proceed to cut and flare the existing sheet metal from the doors all the way back to the rear deck lid. Not only did this give the Challenger that wider track that George was looking for, but by retaining the existing width of the rear bumper, they were able to give the car a true Trans-am racer look and feel. From here a custom rear diffuser was constructed to accommodate the Challengers new wider stance and finish off the cars rear end. Tail light lenses were then blacked out and a custom emblem reading “GAME OVER” was inserted into the rear spoiler… (remember Mariano Rivera is a closer for the Yankees).

Up front the changes are less drastic. A shaker hood scoop from Classic Design Concepts was incorporated along with mild under hood accessories such a Mopar cold air intake and custom tune. A Mopar Performance cat back exhaust system was also added to help the big HEMI breath a bit better as well.

To cure the chubby chub blues that all Challengers have, a set of big Hotchkis sway bars and springs were added front and rear. Wheels are one-offs, designed by both Mr. Rivera and Proformance Industries. 20×9’s up front are shod with Pirelli P-Zero tires and cope with the Challengers handling while big 20×12’s wrapped in 315/35/20 tread help to put all the HEMIs power down to the pavement.

The interior… Yep, that was done, too. The entire console was taken out and wrapped in leather, while white stitching hints at that Yankee ownership. Suede inserts were also incorporated into the side panels and headliner, while a neatly hidden Valentine One resides in the rear view mirror. You know, just in case Mr. Rivera decides to drive faster than his fast ball.

Like I said in the beginning, trying to create a custom car can sometimes end in tragedy. It can also, in the case of the Proformance Challenger, end in something that is truly a one-of-a-kind original that will not only turn heads, but force others to rethink their ideas of what real customization and execution is."

Proformance Industries just completed a custom set of wheels for the Lamborghini Murciélago. We ran a matte black center with a brushed aluminun lip for this PF-10 wheel. We also installed a Valentine One in the rear view, powder coated the calipers, and tinted the tail lights. More photos to come..

This Porsche GT2 was brought to us with a set of fully polished HRE wheels. As beautiful as these wheels are, the customer wanted a "new" look for his ride. He wanted the lips left polished and the centers done in matte black. Needless to say, we took these wheels to the next level and really completed the look of this car.

A forum member brought in these BBS LeMans wheels for some repairs and cosmetic lovin'. They look outstanding, especially with the red/gold center caps he owns. The high polished lip and gold hardware really sets these LMs apart from the rest. Here are some photos of the finished product, hopefully Ed can snap some pictures on his E46 M3 and post them!
