Your thoughts

Re-posting here because it wasn't getting a lot of traffic in the Canadian Forum. I'm not to sure of the US Rebuild process. In Canada, once a vehicle is 'written off' you must go for a vehicle inspection after the repair in order to prove that it is road worthy.

How does this vehicle look to you guys?

Salvage - Rebuild - Asking $28,800 US

Salvage? Rebuild? No warranty? Damn, thats not even a good deal.

Plus, they said slight damage to the quarter panel. Then they mention the roof. Those roofs have issues of their own before they get hit, I wouldn't want to own one after. I'd suggest staying clear. Theres more to the story, I'd put my money on a pretty serious wreck that was cheaply repaired and not even finished.

Oh man!

Just seeing the pieces of the top on the ground would make me run, Forrest, run!

I think those pieces are the OEM replacement parts for the damaged roof, not yet installed.

In British Columbia the Insurance Company will only write off a vehicle if the damge is estimated more than the vehicle is worth. I can't see an Insurance Company writing off a vehicle that has had quarter panel damage.

Exactly. That car would have had to sustain upwards of $30k in damages to write it off.

Yes, this.

I don't know for a fact, but I've heard here on the boards (a few times) that to replace the entire top is over 20K.
