Which One To Buy 335i Coupe or Sedan

I'm looking to purchase the new 2007 335i but can't figure out which to go for.

I don't mind 2 door cars but would rather prefer to get the 4 door. Anyone know what some of the differences are between the two?

I've read some reviews and someone mentioned that the 4 door's body style was totally different and looked more like the last years model. Any of that true?

Also, are there any differences when it comes to the engine between the two cars. How about performance?

I've already visited the BMW Of Mississauga dealership and spoke with a sales guy there that offered to give me 2.5% off the price. I was trying to push for more but he said once I come in and say I'm ready to buy he can try to get me more.

Any advice on which dealership might be able to give the best deal and how much one could actually get off the price. Lowering the monthly price would also help a bit, I know they sometimes have ways of increasing the buy back value.

Thanks for your help

I live in the GTA area just in case you've missed the Mississauga comment above.

coupe.. depends how many people are always in your car. I had a 4 door but noticed... it's alway me in my car.. and at most me and my girl... So now i ordered a coupe. Def a coupe, you can always get a sedan later. Have fun and get a coupe.

I went for a saloon because my intention was to keep this as my daily car for years to come. Once I save enough money I'll be buying a sporty weekend car which'll be a coupe or convertible.

Oh, and its easier to get bigger discounts on the saloon

In Canada, there's not much difference in content between same level model of the coupe and sedan other than the body style. The coupe gets the sport suspension and adaptive headlights standard (along with a higher price) and that's about it.

I have to say that the back seats in the coupe are roomier but you lose the third seat that's available in the sedan. It's also tougher for people to get in/out the back of the coupe. Something to think about if you carry more than one passenger often.

Check both out and see what moves you.

If you aren't haulin' around kids go with the coupe. I like my sedan, but I bought it before the coupe came out.

I like the 4 door styling way much better than the coupe...and on top of everything, it has 2 extra doors No spare tire or even a space provided on both, but ...order one!

Coupe has a chassis that is significantly more ridgid than the sedan's. Get the sedan only if you really need the 2 extra doors. IMHO, the styling of the coupe is MUCH better. Plus you can get the dark poplar wood trim in the coupe. I also like the wheels better on the 335i coupe.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated.

I've looked both of them today, and also had the pleasure of test driving the manual coupe. Before I got a chance to drive it the sales lady took me for a test drive to show me what the car can do. In my mind I was thinking, please, just give me the car and I'll show you what it can do.

THEN!!! the surprise of the day, she handled that car like I've never seen before, I was amazed. At one point she wanted to show me how the 50/50 thing worked on the car so she was going about 90KM/hr and moves half of the car to the curb where it was gravel and the other half on the pavement. Then she says, I'm going to slam on the breaks just to show you how this works. I almost screamed and said wow lady chill out, (scared the living crap out of me). So then she slams on the breaks and once again I was amazed how the car didn't even slide to the side at all.

Overall, the engine amazed me the most. I love how powerful that car is.
It looks like I'll be going with the coupe after all. The only down side is that I have to wait until end of Feb to get it as aberrantly there isn't 1 manual 335 coupe in the entire Canada.

Word, the sedan is cheaper, you have the option of back seats. Although I looked at both today and BMW did a great job on the back seat of the coupe. Pretty decent room (im 5' 10 and I had plenty of room).

Coupe if it's your second car OR don't have kids.

Get the coupe. More sporty goodness. Only reson to get the sedan is if you need to take 5 people in your car regularly.

I would buy coupe if you are single or married w/o kids.
because coupe has 25% stiffer suspension compare to saloon.
Also it is more money

When I started seeing people getting the coupes and saw the official photos, I thought it looked way sportier than the sedan and very nice. But someone just got one in my complex and now that I see it every day and then I look at my car and the other three e90s in the lot, for some reason I am more drawn the the sedan styling. The coupe is very sporty looking but I actually still prefer the styling of the sedan, it seems more interesting and eye pleasing, I don't know why.

well same engines... different body... i'd take the sedan if your thinking you might have more than the shotgun passenger... coupe if u dont expect anybody sitting behind you... cause getting in and getting out for the people behind you is a pain in the ass.

I agree with Nikki. I have the 330i sedan and while the coupe is an awesome
sports car, I don't know but the sedan "speaks" to me through its lines better
than the coupe. At the end of the day you ask X people, you'll get X+1 opinions
so the final decision rests with you and after considering each car from a
practical standpoint.

+1. Go with the sedan. It's a little less money and you get the same performance with 2 extra doors.

Coupe. Sexy and sleek. I don't like the rear of the sedan.

E92 Coupe 's outlook not surprise, immediately tells it is a new BMW model. It is at the moment, pretty fresh looking. You might like to consider whether it is still that fresh say 2 years down the line while the streets are flooded with 3er. e.g. Do we now really care about a E46 is 2-door or 4-door? A 2-door was being considered as 'fashionable' must be long back to the years of Saturday Night Fever. I love the curves of the E92 and have no issues to take a 2-door and I don't really need 5 seats. The one and only one issue with a 2-door is to drop off your back seats passengers in a heavy rain storm under no shelter. Considering that poor guy could be crawling out from your car with a wet umbella too.
Unlike the C and CLK, basically when you sit on the E92 , it is not any different from a e90.
