if you put on racing stripes you get an extra 5hp

It will handle better, stop better and have a higher top speed, but it probably won't be any faster 0-60. You might get some increased traction created by a larger contact patch, but it probably won't be enough to offset the increase in weight of a larger wheel / tire package. Straight line acceleration is only one measure of performance though.
