Sadly I'm saying ByeBye to my E-91!

My lease expires tomorrow and although I wanted to buy the car, it's the best car we've ever owned, we couldn't make a satisfactory deal.
My residual was 23760 and I offered cash in that amount if they would throw in a CPO warranty and they refused. Business must be better than I think, but in these times I am not going to give in on pricing.
Wondering what to buy next, maybe just ride my old reliable E46 til I find something that I can't live without!

you didn't try another dealer?
or was that the only one in your area.

I say upgrade to E91 LCI.

$23760 looks to be significantly above kbb trade-in... and probably much higher than Black Book that they'll get for the car at auction.

What are they thinking?

stubenhocker,

wow. i just looked up pics of your e91. she is a beauty - gorgeous combo of arctic and terra. try a different dealer...while it's true it will get less than that at the auction, they also know they can sit there and twiddle their thumbs for someone else to jump on it. there was an '07 e91, cpo, 17k miles, nav & premium that i almost got for 30k. while not too many people like them, they know there's a few of us out there.

all the best! hope you end up in another e91.

They probably have a buyer already willing to pay more...or someone at the dealership is going to keep it.

Economy suck right now. Drive the old E46 and save your money until something nice comes out down the road.

ITs not about the dealer. This is via BMW financial. They either sell it to the dealer or it goes to auction.

BMW financial owns the car, not the dealer. I tried to buy my 530i and they would not budge or give me anything other than good financing, which I did not want.

Unless there's something out there that you really want, mistake, I'd say...

buyout + cpo for cost (sth like 1500) would be a fair deal, I'd offer it to them. You will find no car for 26k that will be as good as the one you're letting go (and that you know the history of).

If you can drop $23K on the car now, why did you lease it in the first place? Doesn't make any sense.
