Planned First Mods - Opinions?
The car is planned to be at the dealer on the 19th! Only 7 weeks after my ED drop off...but, the first three things I plan on doing is...
selling off the stocks and replacing em with 19 in staggered CSL rims in hypersilver • now what tires do i get? i have practically no knowledge of tires or anything, but i want something to perform nicely (comparable to stock rfts) and have decently tread life, probably askin for a miracle, but let me know what you guys think gettin the ipod interface (newest one?) • any bugs/kinks that are known when installed on the 335? and, gettin the OEM alarm system • is there any reason I shouldnt pay the 600 + labor to get this? would you guys suggest not? thanks for the feedback in advance |

Tirerack has a great rating system and ranking of the best tires. Use the little banner on the upper right hand corner and it will take you there. If you give me the exact size front/rear that you are looking at then I can help you out.
I'm not sure about the iPods The OEM alarm is pointless. There is a very very very slim chance that your car will be stolen and the alarm doesn't do much besides beep, I mean who pays attention to that? The car has such good anti-theft devices already it is very hard to steal so the only method that is even somewhat plausible would be towing it and the alarm won't do anything to help prevent against that.

the offsets for 19in CSLs are 19x8.5 ET40/ET45/ET22
which one will fit the 335i? how much is lojack? is that worth it with the already installed bmw assist? |

Yeah I was just wondering what tire size you were looking at, ie 225/40
I wouldn't invest in lojack, really it only helps recover your vehicle after it has already been stripped or crashed and you're better off just getting the total loss value from insurance.

Lojack costs about the same as the regular alarm+install. I disagree with Nikki. Lojack with early warning can have cops going after the car within 5 min of being stolen. I doubt it will have been stripped by then... maybe crashed but thats a risk you take. I get very attached to my cars... if i can get it back (without major damage) I want it back (as long as its a good car ). Especially if you are going to mod it... a lot of stuff takes to time get/install etc.

Before the car was found? Or before the cops got on the case? 45min-1hr is not bad at all.

okay i'm not quite sure what kind of tires i'd want, do you know what size would provide the best looking stance? or whatever tires would fit with those rims on the 335?
i've heard the dealer say bmw assist is very similar to lojack...is there really a need for it with that? does this help at all? http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html...D=M3COMPWHEELS it doesn't look like those are the reps due to the cost |
