After drop/before alignment
Anyone had a TPM error pop up?
Not talking about low pressure, but a TPM error itself. Wondering if it's because i didn't align my car yet. On a second note, anyone know where the unit itself is located? want to see if theres a loose wire or something. |

The sensor itself is sandwiched between your wheel and tire in the airspace and is wireless as far as I know.
Unfortunately I don't know how to help you other than that. |

I've aligned my car twice in the 8 months of ownership (I'm pick as hell)
and I've never had a single error light cause of it... Did they remove the tires or anything like that?

So i'm just hoping that maybe the alignment problem led to the TPM error. Once again it's not the sensor, that's in the wheel. I'm sure there is a reciever unit in the car and the sending unit is the TPMS(sensor). So maybe the harder bumps may have loosen a wire(at least i hope) Quote:
I'm sure the dealership will/have a reason to not cover it under warranty since the ride is harsher slightly. So i'd rather see if it's something like a loose wire first. |

got my alignment done today and still get error. Calling to schedule for service tomorrow, guess i'll see if they'll make me pay or not. I can see it happening either way, i guess the good news is my assist isn't working either, so maybe they'll charge it under warranty

Error went away after i tried to reset and reset it. Then w/o me resetting it, it went away. Ended up not going to the dealership.
Also FYI i did some research and ppl say the reciever unit is in the front of each wheel well under the liner. Also after drops/whatever, if you have active steering; it'll throw all sorts of codes up if your wheels are straight, and your steering wheel is off. This requires a reset from the dealer, but maybe a alignment might fix;IDK. In conclusion I think if you get the same error as me, just drive it for like 100 miles; I think that's how much i drove with that light on/off before it went away. I checked for hanging wires etc, and nothing, but since it went away i don't feel like driving to the dealership either |
