N54 N55 number numbers

Given the rumors that the N54 engine did much more than 300hp/300lb/ft and the fact that the N55 740i engine (see quote below) is rated higher than 300/300, do people expect the N55 in the 535i to be more powerful than 300/300? Wouldn't you think they would use the same engine in 535i and 740i? Also, do they mean twin scroll in this quote or is BMW using the old N54 engine which is twin-turbo?

Here's the quote:

"The 2011 BMW 740i and 740Li feature BMW’s internationally acclaimed twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine with up-rated output of 315 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 330 lb-ft of torque from 1600-4500 rpm. All-aluminum construction, High Precision direct fuel injection, Double-VANOS variable camshaft technology, and Brake Energy Regeneration are a few of the technologies used under the BMW EfficientDynamics philosophy to place the 740i and 740Li among the most powerful six-cylinder luxury sedans in the world. Delivering power to the rear wheels is BMW’s 6-speed automatic transmission, well-known for fast, smooth gearshifts and an ability to intelligently adapt to the driver’s style.

The new 7 Series uses the N54, not the N55.
I'm sure it won't be long before it gets an 8 speed
transmission as well.

That would explain the power numbers. Amazing that they are going to the trouble of certifying a different engine for the 740i and 535i
