Wheels spacers; your story
E90 2007 here. I am tempted to install 12mm spacers in the rear w/longer bolts of course.
I would like to know if it is much harder to install. It is already a PITA with no spacer. I hate bolts as opposed to studs. Any bad experience or rubbing with 12mm? |

I have 20mm rear spacers and it just barely rubbed before I rolled the fenders, but my car is lowered. I would go at least 15mm on an E90.
Putting them on is as simple as it gets, but removing them can be a different story. Make sure that you buy a set that has reliefs machined into the back side to give you something to pry against when removing them and use plenty of anti-seize when installing them. I highly recommend these: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/htm...&subcat_id=157 Last edited by DV; 03-06-2010 at 07:39 PM.. |

I had 8 and 15mm spacers when I had my jetta (also had lug bolts). pain in the ass but as long as they're hubcentric you should be good. I know the bigger h&r spacers have the lip for the wheels (I think it's called wheelcentric) so it makes it easier to hold the wheel up so you can align the holes and get the lug bolts in.
I'm seriously considering a stud conversion lol |

Txs, good info here. I will possibly go with 15mm spacers instead of 12... and with lips.
My 18" wheels are not staggered and I have 8" in the rear. I have a problem with the look... hopefully the spacers will help. |

BTW, are longer locking bolts available? What length do I need? Is it doable that I order the same locking code as the other locking bolts I have?

Just installed 12mm Macht Schnell spacers in the rear, looks way better. My set-up:
2007 E90 328i Wheels: 20x8.5 +35mm/os TSW Donington Tires: 245/30/20 Nitto Invo Suspension: Eibach-Pro kit 1.2f/1.0r Spacer: 12mm MS Kit w/longer bolts I could've gone to 15mm on the rear but I didn't want any issues so I was conservative, plus I could go even lower with the 12mm. Now I am thinking about spacers for the front too. DIY INSTALL - READ: Here is my only issue with the DIY install, and I wished I would've known this before I started and got VERY frustrated . On my 2007 E90 there were very thin shim rings on the hub-centric flange located on the brake disc and with that thin shim ring in place the spacers would not fit at all. Once figured this out and removed the shim ring the spacers went on without any problem. I searched all over the internet before I bought spacers and NEVER ONCE did I read about these thin shims as part of the install process. So I hope this tip helps someone with a future install. |

I found this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EXTENDED-LOCKI...37215648307449 I wonder if 40mm of thread is enough for 15mm spacers. |
