Exclamation Dealer Charges

Hi All;

Received a quote from Dealer on 2007 328i Coupe with price of 50 000. Added on was Destination Charge of $1999, Documentation Fee of $998, Tire & Bat. Fee of $20. This seems like a VERY POOR attempt of adding extras to jack-up the price. I mean come on.....WTF is with the Doc. fee of $998.:mad:
What To Do. Is this a bunch of Hooey or What !!!!!!!!!!
Please advise on acurate costs and what I should be expected to Pay.

Thanks in advance for the help guys.
Angeleyes.

ps. Can you please throw me some names of honest dealers you guys trust & What about European D ???????

Saying what price you were quoted for the car is really useless, it depends on options etc... obviously. What discount off of MSRP are they giving you? The % discount is all that really matters, the rest is set by BMW.

As far as the other charges, the $998 "documentation fee" sounds like a total rip off, the destination charge is also pretty high (mine was $1695).

$1999 for destination charge??? LOL
That's the most BS I've heard today. Like others've mentioned, if you provide us with the options you got, we can tell you what the price should be.

the doc fee is way out to lunch and could be free if you neg. well. The destination fee i assume is shipping and prep and is about right for a few months ago but i it should be a bit cheaper now that the price of fuel has dropped a bit. The shipping companies jacked up their rates with fuel surcharges and when the price of fuel goes down so should the FS and ultimately your destination fee.

As I recall Audi's destination charge was $700. It's amazing how much more it costs the poor BMW dealers to ship a car from Germany than it does for Audi dealers.

By Euro delivery we dont get to save anything in canada. Yes the ED MSRP is a bit lower but you have to pay 6.1% duty on it. Plus all the regular Freight/PDI/Doc Fee/Tire Tax

That $998 doc fee is a load of BS. It's a part of doing business and you shouldn't have to pay it. The $1900 freight/PDI fee is already ridiculous as it is.
