Just recieved my tripod! [56K Beware!]
My tripod came in yesterday, so I went out to take some night shots and mess with the exposure My friend came along with his tC, we're waiting for his rims to come in so we can do a shoot (Ray G-Games 77w Vaio's)..
Let me know what you guys think: I'll post some more shots of my car as soon as I'm done Post-Processing them...

You should try again with more ambient light, so's you can see more of the car. Your car came out acceptibly, but the scion is invisible.

It's my friend's car, so far he has: Blue Batmobile Eyelids (weird company name) LED Reverse Lights LED License Plate lights Hotchkis Sway Bars (Front + Rear) 5% tint in the back, 15% tint in the front TRD Springs He just ordered a Prolumen HID Kit and 18x8.5 G-Games 77w Vaio's. I'm waiting for him to get the rims so we can do another photoshoot =]

Open your f-stop ALL the way up. That's called your "Aperture". It's the size of the opening light goes through to get to the "film" or in this case (it's digital, right) the light sensor.
Then set the timer for a good, long exposure. Don't let the halo's or parking lamps point right at the camera, they'll wash everything else out. If you're shooting a dark car on a dark background, it's not going to work well. Find a lighter background, or MORE ambient light, so the car will reflect more light back to the camera that the background is NOT. |

I had the F/ open to like 10, exposures were from 2" to 6". I did realise I had some glare in the photos from the lights, especially when trying to shoot the Angels, and leaving the exposure open for too long would make them too bright.

I notice you're also shooting the "dark side" of the car. The light on the subject is BEHIND the subject, called back lighting.
This is bad. The extra light from the light washes your film, and also casts a shadow on the side of the subject you're shooting, causing you to see less detail. Next time, shoot from the lighted side of the car. You'll see MUCH more car. Matt |

Awesome, people are getting tripods left and right lol. I would try a longer exposure to brighten them up a little. I'm also not a fan of the jdm crooked angle but it works occasionally.

Did you adjust the contrast on them? Looks like you need more light or they are under exposed.

Nice edit, I didn't do too much PP and left them dark because I liked them that way. For my next shoot I'll shoot on the lighter side of the car, I usually shoot during the day so I'm not use 2 shooting at night. The tripod is great, I'm still learning to use it correctly though, and the crooked sideways pics was just cuz I was messing around.
