This is for the birds...

Been parking at the same train station for a while now and haven't had this problem until recently. It seems that migrating birds really enjoy crapping on my BMW. Every day for the past 2 weeks I come back to my car and it's COVERED in bird shit. Purple bird shit to be exact. The messed up thing is they don't seem to target other cars quite as much . Doesn't matter where I park in the lot.

Is this going to eventually destroy my paint? I rinse it off when I get home but this is getting really annoying. Shouldn't they be in Florida by now?!!

I feel you greatly. Seems birds love my cars all the time as well. Try and carry some sort of cleaning kit, or cover your car if you can.

Here's the answer.

This option is offered by BMW accessories- but only in Europe.

What color is your car? Birds invariably aim for the darker cars. Purple is an odd color; could be squirrels partying on your car. At least you did not come out, as my friend did, and find a duck sitting on his roof.

Hmm...it's Sparkling graphite. Pretty dark. It's definitely birds though.

it hapened to me over the weekend, I did not get to wash my car until a day later. it all washed off fine but now there is a slight discoloration on the hood (about 8mm in size). I guess one of the birds had some potent shit. (I was parked below a tree )
