Question Formula One Pinnacle Tints Question…

I am trying to decide on the tints for my new black 335i coupe. The Formula One Pinnacle ceramic tints seem to be one of the more highly recommended ones out there.

I want flat black looking tints and NOT a reflective/mirror type look. None of the local Formula One installers have a car with the tints installed that they can show me at their shops so I was hoping for some feedback from anyone out there with the Pinnacle tints on their car.

Do these look 1) completely silvery/mirrored in the sun, 2) somewhat silvery/mirrored, or are they 3) just flat black??

Thanks!

From what I hear (have not seen it in person) the F1 Ceramic tint is a rather flat black color. Ceramics have less reflectivity because they do not contain metal.

I had them on my g35 coupe and they are very flat. I too do not care for any hint of "metallic" shine on my tints, so when getting them done they said the pinnacle would be perfect for me. I've also seen a couple of "ultimate" and "comfort" series. Actually my bro's m3 has the comfort on. But if you're like me, you will not be disappointed with the pinnacle. A really great looking tint...HTH

While you are comparing tints also take a look at HuperOptik ceramic tints. I think Pinnacle and HuperOptik are the two top ceramic tints out there. HO tints are worth considering if you find Pinnacle is too reflective. I haven't seen Formula One but HuperOptik Stark tint isn't reflective. HO Drei ceramic looks slightly reflective but not as much as the typical metal tints.

Thanks for the replies so far. I also thought about the HO tints but the F1 are a few hundred $ cheaper at the places I've been to in South FL. The ceramic having less of a metallic look and more flat black made sense to me when I started shopping, but when I saw a sample of the film (not on a car just a small sheet) at the installer, it had a reflective look...and I am just trying to make sure before making the purchase. The installer said that it wasn't too metallic looking, but you know they will say anything so they can get your business.

Hey what part of FL are you from? If you are near the Tampa/Sarasota area, I can refer you to a really good place.

Like where?

I went to Formula One of Bradenton and while they did a pretty good job, customer service wise, they SUCK! If you have a problem, don't even bother complaining about it. The manager will tell you to go stick it.

I completely recommend Formula One of Clearwater though. It's a small operation, but very good. I went to them when I had to get one of the windows retinted.

Not silvery/reflective at all. I don't like that, either. I'm a fan of the F1 Pinnacle and give it a thumbs up.
