Or maybe it's not cold enough yet...was wondering how that worked, supposedly the interior gets heat without the motor on, for so many minutes....very unique.

I had it in my last car. It works ok but I live in Florida so it isn't something I used very often. Good if it is really snappy (that is like 20 where I live - coldest day of the year) and you need to run in to a store for 10 - 15 minutes. Keeps the inside of the car warm using the engine residual heat.

I used it in my 335i and damn that thing was hotter than the heater when the car was on, I had to shut it off. Obviously you're not supposed to be in the car but I was testing it out, the 335i engine sure as hell is hot!! lol sssszzzzz

It uses the electric coolant pump keep pumping the warm coolant and activates the fans at low speed to distribute this small amount of heat. It seems to last about 10 minutes but on a chilly day it's enough to keep the car warm while you are the shop. Hope this helps... |

I haven't used that feature yet, but I look forward to trying it out. I'm afraid that it'll become one of those nice-to-have features that I won't use much, just like the air-conditioned cupholder.

I've been using it for the previous weeks. It's been getting cold here in NJ and it really is a nice feature. This is my secret...I offer my wife a ride during weekends so i can have an excuse to go out and drive my car and while waiting for her,..I turn off the engine and use the residual heat.I think it stays on for 15 minutes.

We have a/c cupholders in the 335i coupe/sedan??
How come no one ever mentioned it at the dealer? Is this an American option or do we have this in Canada as well... |
