shouldnt be that big of a deal. just get it checked out at the dealer before you freak out about it.

That's the price you pay for having a very early first year production model. Many people on this board would gladly compromise a some of these problems in order to be the first on the block to own this car.

Besides, you know you're covered under warranty so there should be no problem getting it fixed at the dealer.

Once I get mine I'm sure I'll have some problems. I just figure that I'll get a rental car from the dealer so that I can put miles on a rental while they're fixing my baby. It may also be a good excuse to have them program any updates to the software in car.

He has a 325i... it's not a 328 or 335.

That being said, if I was having a problem like this after just two months of owning a car I paid tens of thousands for, I'd be pissed too. Especially a BMW. Maybe if it was a Scion, there wouldn't be any reason to get worked up. But when you're picking a friend up, it's kind of embarrassing to explain that your lock is broken in your 2 month old BMW.

who cares if its a scion or a BMW? If your unhappy you should be unhappy because of the problem regardless of what type of car you have. Who cares if you spend 40k plus on a car? The guy in the scion deserves the same treatment because he may be working his tail off to pay for it.

Don't feel bad...same thing just happened to my 330 (built 4/05), except its the rear driver's side door. Funny thing is, it opens fine from the outside, but not from the inside....its like the handle isn't catching for some reason.

Not a child-safety lock issue either....going to get it checked out after Thanksgiving.

My 04' 330Ci had a similiar problem with the passenger door. One of my friends opened the door and snap! The handle wouldnt open the door from the outside and this was after 1 week. It happened about a month or so later and again it was fixed. You can imagine the grief I took from my friends about that one.... It hasnt happen since then but the door has always been hard to open. I noticed on the new e92 coupe the doors are MUCH easier to open.

I don't even understand what you're arguing about. When did I say the Scion guy should be treated like dirt. Or that he didn't work hard for his car? You and I both know damn well that there is a big difference between the perception of a BMW and the perception of a $15,000 car.

You would have to be a fool to expect the same quality from a set of Coby headphones as someone expects from a pair of Bose headphones. You'd also have every right to be pissed if your $150 headphones had only one ear working after owning them for a few days.

Hey I have the same problem
At first I thought it was the child lock or something
My son can't open the door on it's own. I have to either press the unlock button inside the car or open it from outside
PITA but nothing worth going to the dealer for right away... I'll wait until my first service is due

You should also know that if you buy a 40k car it has more electronics and more potential problems. Everyone knows that. I see what your saying about the scion thing but just because we have money does not mean we should go crazy if 1 minor problem happens to the car. Bring the car in get a loaner and its fixed. I just dont see why this is such a big deal to people. Its such a minor thing IMO.

that's not even an applicable analogy in this situation, 1 out of 2 headphones not working is a MAJOR problem, which would be more comparable to, say, your car only driving in limp mode
