Need your help. DCT or MAN?

I currently have an 08 AW Man but am considering changing to a monte carlo edition, I think I want a DCT and this is one of my main reasons for change.
I had a E60 M5 before the M3 and whilst I used to sometimes curse that gearbox I miss the paddles and the seven speed.
I have driven a DCT and I must say it is way better than the old SMG in the 5but the amount of horror stories on this board have made me wonder if im wise?
A couple of local dealers have both DCT & MAN monte's in stock so no issue with getting either, just need to get one with a good spec, my question is this -
If you have a DCT do you like it and are all the stories as bad as people make out? or would you rather a manual box?

Thanks guys !

Yes I like it And yes the stories were as bad as people made out. However with the latest software update (last year some time), the DCT is as it should be,... fantastic Therefore, just ensure that the M3 you buy has all the latest software updates, and test drive it in the default D2 mode. If it doesn't have the latest updates, you'll realise it pretty quickly!

Seems like you're pretty excited about the DCT.

Go for it, and don't look back!

Im manual aswell, more interactive than dct imo. If i had to commute and regularily end up in traffic jams then i might change my mind.

DCT is the only choice for me, a MT M3 won't have done it for me. Since you are buying a new car then the horror story of the early DCT wouldn't affect your choice.

DCT all the way!!!!!!!

Can't get any better than M-DCT I say, it's rapid
By the way great choice, MC-Blue Edition is my favourite M3 colour EVER and a rare sight too. Buy and enjoy!

I think pink would be faster as it would scare the other Ms away.. especially if a guy was driving it!
