Messed up my front bumper! :( :( :(

today i was not concentrating and instead of back out of a parking space I went forward for a few seconds and suddenly came to the horrible realization that this parking lot had those parking blocks/bricks in front of every space to mark the end.. needless to say, I scratched up the bottom of the front bumper REALLY bad.. and some scratches can be seen from the front.. it's not very obvious unless I kneel down but it bothers the crap out of me! I dont have any pictures because my camera is broken.

but what do you guys suggest me do? repaint it or replace it with an oem bumper.. and should i get it done at the dealership or are they a ripoff?

thanks.

get a quote from a few reputable bodyshops around your area

replace or repaint? it all depends on how severe the damage, can't really tell you without seeing a picture of the damage

Not sure what color car you have, or if you have CWP.
If you decide to replace the bumper, and you're car's sparkling graphite and you don't have the headlight washers, let me know. I have the OEM kit for sale.

Dang, that stinks. Get a quote from several bodyshops/dealerships in your area to see what suits your needs. Or check out the marketplace subforum and see if anything tickles your fancy. Heck, maybe you'll find an aftermarket alternative. Good luck!

Without any images, we can't really judge to what degree of damage was caused. Nor can we suggest whether the bumper needs to be replaced. Any body shop, however, will easily answewr that question for you.

If the damage is so severe that the bumper needs to be preplaced, you have the opportunity to search for an alternate style or simply mask it with a front lip.

If it bothers you enough to replace it, you should DEFINITELY take advantage of the opportunity and buy an aftermarket front bumper. You're other choices would be a front spoiler which would cover up the damage to the lower portion of the bumper (AC Schnitzer and Hartge ones are real nice).

why replace/repain it, it will get scratch again. You said it is hard to see unlees you kneel down. Then don't bother with it. your car is not a show car but a daily car so things will happen. just enjoy the car.

If its the bottom of the bumber i'd say just leave it. It going to get scratched again eventually, so dont waste the money.

As long as its just the bottom of the bumber and not anything in the front - then leave it
