Sport Airbag FS

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
This is not my auction, but figured it would intrigue a few E90 posters...

Here is a link to an ebay auction for a sport steering wheel airbag. This would be of interest to those who would like to go from a non-sport steering wheel to a sport, or msport wheel.

AJ, what else would you need for a steering wheel conversion. This airbag unit, the sport steering rim and...?? Wasn't there mention of some hard to get bracket or something?

I believe it would be the controls as well as the metal bracket that goes behind the airbag... other than that, the rest should come with the wheel...

I've been waiting for something like this to come along for I already got the ZSP on hand... are you sure about the P/N?

and as Donny had asked,

What more is needed aside from ZSP wheel n cover?

I thk This is a better buy than a New e92

If I get this upgrade all I need now are the ZSP seats. :-)))

Well, there is a metal bracket that needs to go behind the airbag. CHeck out my DIY and you will see the bracket. You will need that, the new buttons (and they should come with wiring), and you should be all set...

If anyone gets this airbag you'll have to get a cover for the BMW emblem. This one is cracking, and you CANNOT replace the emblem. you can only cover it.

Matt

EDIT: It may not actually be cracking, upon close inspection of the pics....

ALSO..... the reserve is too high.

The fellow on ebay selling the M-Tech wheels will sell you an airbag for around $400. I've bid this thing up to $350 so far, and the reserve is still not met!

Upgrading to the sport steering wheel from non-sport, and what is that for? 1 simple answer: just for the look. I just didn't understand why people could spend $800 to do this upgrade to just get the zsp feeling while they couldn't spend ~$1400 to get the zsp to begin with (+ extras: 162 wheels, sport seats, suspension and 155mph limiter...)
One thing I regret when buying my 330 is not getting the zsp with these cool things included. However, I can live with non-sport suspension and I get little more comfortable drive for my daily commute. I NEVER retrofit things that I could get from the beginning.

I didn't want the sport package because I hate 162's. I didn't realize that I could have instantly sold them to YOU guys for the cost of the zsp upgrade. Had I KNOWN that, I would have zsp.

Since I didn't get it, and I regret that, I'm going to spend a little money to get the parts of the zsp that I like.

I spent $100 to get zsp suspension, and I'll spend almost $800 to get the steering wheel. I will then sell my non-zsp for $400-500 with the airbag, so really I'll be getting the zsp wheel for $300.

I'll be getting the speed limiter removed by getting the Dinan software, that I'd have gotten ANYWAY if I had zsp...

He can sell it to you at $480 local pickup. thats that last price and best price Ive seen so far US, Ebay/Sweden is less but you re dealing Internationally.

this seller is such a moron, his last auction list it as "Low Reserve" and ended at $312, reserve not met.

After w/c I got a return call he never answer before to say its relisted :finger:

I mentioned to him, he is a moron, bcoz he thinks the OEM airbag sells for $800. lolz and he set his reserve at $399.00 plus shipping.(with a blemish)

I told him, he is an idiot for listing it again for the same reserve price!
"If you didnt get your reserve the first time, what made you think people you pissed off will give you your same reserve, plus with the holidays coming "

Reserve at $399 somebody get it pls
