E90 BMW Service Schedules?....

Ok my 330d is due a service in about 500 miles. I've not had the car serviced before in my ownership, and can see from the OBC that it's only due an 'inspection' (image of car on ramp). Oil for example isnt due for 10k miles....

Guessing the inspection is just where they check brakes for wear etc, but seems a bit strange that this doesn't tie in with an oil- change etc.

Can't find any info about the servicing schedules on E90's in the handbook - anyone able to enlighten me?!

cheers!

It's all Condition Based Servicing (CBS) - service datd being held on the key.

I don't think that there are any "service schedules" per se.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.

I had my inspection done recently.

Cost me £170 or so for the inspection and brake fluid change.

Complete rip off if you ask me the inspection was. Just what exactly do they do on this inspection?
I know of one minor thing that was missed all I got back was some quibble about not having run flats fitted and a car that had looked like it had been washed with a bucket full of dirty water.

It's due for a service very soon. I'm going to tell them not to bother washing it I will do it myself in future.

When was its last MOT? As Dave said, CBS, so you'll need your key read to know for sure . Out of curiosity, where were you thinking of having your service done?

Thanks, doesn't sound that worthwhile then. I can imagine they might try and say the front discs need changing or something. Car was MOT'd July '09.

I was thinking of just going to a specialist garage, as the car is 3.5 years old so I don't know if it's really worth keeping up the BMW SH tbh...

You may aswell have the key read and then decide... better to be safe than to be sorry?
