Awesome deals in BMW Magazine

Just today I got my first issue of BMW magazine. It says you get a free one-year subscription with the purchase of an E90. Otherwise, the magazine costs $5.00 per issue (though the magazine is only printed 4 times a year).

So anyway, while looking through the magazine today, I spotted a Klaus-Kobec watch advertised from "Timepieces Interntaional". On their Web site, the watch costs $685.00 (http://www.timepiecesusa.com/?action...c90f32bb51e08b ), but with a special promotion code from the magazine, the watch only cost $159.00!!!

Is this too good to be true? Or do these companies from time to time partner up with BMW Mag. to offer these special deals? Anyone have any info that has been getting BMW Magazine for a while?

Also does anyone know...is this particular watch a good buy?

Thanks!

Wait a minute...I just found this:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...14357?v=glance

I'd delete this post, but I'm still curious to see if anyone here enjoys this magazine or usually finds good deals in it. I'm just looking into whether or not this is something I'd actually subscripe to once my one year runs out.

Yeah, I got it today saying new E90 buyers get a free one-year's subscription. I took delivery in May, but the issue I got today was the March 2005 issue. Maybe you'll get in a few weeks???

sharp1183, regarding the Klaus Kobec watch: I can tell you, as a watch enthusiast, a Klaus Kobec does not have any bearing on the watch world so to speak. In fact, a Swatch probably has a better movement. There are other companies like Klaus Kobec, for example Steinhauer (wrong spelling maybe) that claim that they are genuine watches but are nothing more than quick assembly watches.

If you are into a watch, I'd love to offer advice you may want; from the low end to the high end.

Anyway, thats just my two cents on it.

I find the magazine to be pretty lame,
it's super fluff about how BMW is great, very few articles about cars, more articles about driving your car through the wine country or through europe

you can always get it for free at the dealer if you want it, I've actually seen if for sale at borders... what a joke

That watch is crap. Buy any Swatch or Seiko before that.

Sounds like (for once) here in the uk we get a better deal than you americans... We get a subscription to the magazine for 3 years, and if you want to continue getting it after the 3 years, you just send back a form that comes with it. Easy! I got the mag for 4 years with my E46 and now I am in an E90, I just keep getting it!

Agree, that it's not that great, but for free as something to read - it'll do fine!!

If you get one, all of your other watches will seem small.
I am a watch nut, too- I've got a large collection.

The difference between a 325i and a 330i to me is a Glashutte Panomatic Date!
