R.O.A.D. INTIRE "pricing"
I just purchased a 2007 335i with the sport package. I was offered by the BMW dealership the R.O.A.D. INTIRE warranty for the tires and wheels for $950.00 for 5 years, is that a fair price. I did a search and read that others have bought simliar warranties around $500.00. I was told by the dealer they will not plug any RFT and they assured me that I will get a new tire if I get a flat or any nails, glass etc.etc. (no plugging the tire). They also said they will take care of any curbing or damage to the wheel even if it is not road hazzard. There is no deductable, no limits, just sign a paper at the dealership and walk out if there is tire or wheel damage.

The only way to compare warranties is to make sure the contract coverages are the same. Ask for a copy of the contract prior to purchase. If you like what you're getting then go for it.
Really you should consider the odds and related expense of the covered occurence happening. One RFT from the dealer is going to cost you more than $360, and as much as $450, plus install. Last winter I hit two potholes and bubbled three tires. I had declined the warranty.... However, I had always planned on ditching the runflats when they wore out and using the stock rims for snow tires only. I just didn't plan on having that happen at only 4000 miles.

What would happen in 4 yrs, 11 mths if you ran over a bed of nails and curbed all 4 of your wheels? Would you get a whole new set of wheels and tires? If so, $950 sounds like a pretty good deal...

does it cover rim damage? even if not, i dont see where you can go wrong with this. i wish i had this, make use of the opportunity. alot of people regret not getting the tire insurance.

RFT/nonRFT price difference
I paid $950. On my 335i in 2007, I paid $700. They said the price went up. I used the insurance 3 times in the first year, and feel like it paid for itself easily. So bargain if you'd like/can, but I still recommend it at $950.
