Montego 328Xi playing in the snow!

I woke up to 14" of fresh snow this morning! I shoveled the driveway but they hadnt plowed the road yet. I balzed trail out to the main road, about a quarter mile. The Xi was fantastic! It didnt even breath hard! Plowing snow, with it flying up over the hood. It was great! The car was faultless. The X-drive worked beautifully.

Here are some pics. Starting at the garage and then after I made it to the main road. We ended up with 17".

Enjoy!

1. What tint do you have?
2. Correct me if I'm wrong but those rims are part of the sport package which also comes with performance tires; if performance tires were good for you in the snow, then the all season ones will be even better for this kind of weather.

Thanks also for visual proof that the combination of 162's and performance RFT's work fine in the snow

From another thread, written by the original poster....did you really think living in denver he's going to make the mistake of plowing around in AS or performance tires in 17 inches of snow?

"I just ordered Blizzak LM-25 225/40 vr 18's for the front and 255/35 vr 18's for the rear from Tirerack. The guy I was talking to suggested staying with the same size as the standard sport tires. I'm sure the wide rears wont be as good in the snow as a narrower tire. I've had 225/45 17's on my 325 for years and it has done great. I'll let you know how these perform."

He might have a full set of front wheel 162's with snows mounted... You really are supposed to get narrower tires if they are going to be used in snow... But Im sure its some good fun either way!!!

I love driving in the snow... I go out for fun every time it snows...

Did you get the chrome tips installed? Almost looks like it in the one pic.

Definitely putting the xDrive to use. Glad to see it.

Thanks for sharing.
