I have a question...BMW is coming with a 335is Sedan too?
I'm kinda wondering if BMW is coming with the 335IS Sedan...Cause I'm looking forward to buy one (Diesel) in the mid 2010 around Summer! Can you guys have some info about that?
Thank you! Last edited by bmwaddict; 06-23-2010 at 09:52 PM.. |

don't worry about it. i think the 335is is a marketing ploy. we all know that bmw underrated the HP and torque of 335i so when they add an "s" to the badge they can claim they have increased the power. it's all a marketing ploy.

My understanding was that outside of the 7-speed transmission that the 'is' model was essentially just a bunch of the BMW Performance parts, right? Nothing you probably couldn't do for the same amount of cash.

they also said they'd never give us an X5M. i say give it some time. IMHO, an E90 M-sport is all you need. do you really wanna have all those gaudy badges everywhere? people are going to start to think that BMW drivers cant even remember the names of their cars.

they added a few more horses just like the 325 to 328 change....plus a performance exhaust, suspensions, and maybe an intake.

Biggest change is that the 'is' will retain the N54 engine whereas the regular 335i will have the new N55. That is the biggest difference when you really think about it. Get an 09 335i sedan while you can so you can do some aftermarket shinanigans with the N54 while there is still time

Just like the post above...
Its not just software... The 335is holds on to the 2007-2010 335i or any x35i engine for that matter the N54 with the twin turbos...as we all know there are hpfp problems BUT then again there are so many cheap power gains...I had the JB3 and it gained about 100hp/100tq...made the N54 into a real beast....WOW what a difference... the 2011 335i has the new Single Turbo N55 engine and I have not seen anyone develop a cheap way to gain similar power as the N54 at this time... ...I would deff. go for the IS version since its a whole different engine, plus when you add in all the ///M parts it will cost about the same as a 335i with the ///M sport pkg. that I would get anyway... Good Luck!

While a 335 ZHP type of option seems logical, I doubt that it will actually occur. It would further eat away at M3 sales, plus they want people to just buy the coupe.
They do make the M3 ZCP package though. And if you want a diesel keep dreaming. Just get an M-Sport 335d and mod it.
