Car audio experts GTFIH!

I've just finished installing a Rockford Fosgate subwoofer and amp.

The bass from the sub is Quality. It does BANG a lot more than it did before with the bass. The stock sound system is truly apalling.

One question is that the speakers at the front, is it possible to change them and how much would it cost? They seem to be holding my higher quality sub and amp back...or am I expecting too much?? What options are available? Should I stick with RF or should I look into someone like Vibe?

I used CDT 3 ways for my front speakers. It all depends on how much you want to spend.

They are similar to the ones i have put a link for, like i said it depends on budget and whether they are going to be amped or not?

Are the subs a replacement of the stock ones, or in the boot?

In the boot a la:

The amp is mounted behind the sub. It's a clean install not cluttery.

The subs under the seats must be seriously crap 'cos I struggle to hear them...looking for some power up front now.

BMW's own Logic 7 speakers fit straight in, sound nice

Will cost you around £200 though - but they are plug n play!

Have you got any tweeters in the front? If not juist fitting them makes a big difference - £100 for L7 ones

I've got the Alpine upgrade so the stock subs are currently amplified but I like the idea of logic 7 subs if it's no hassle to swap!

I wonder if the stealer would do the upgrade? I wouldn't want to remove the seats myself.

As far as I'm concerned, the bass side of things I'm happy with. It's just I don't get that same kind of performance from the front speakers on the doors. I lack tweeters still. Always hesitant in buying BMW shizz, trying to find ways of finding something similar or better for a lower price or similar, appreciate they are plug 'n' play though.

I have seen a number of posts about upgrading the sound system on their BMW. My system is not the Logic7, it's the Business Sound system and I thinks it sounds good. Are the other systems that bad or are my ears getting worse?

About ten years ago when Nova's (not corsas) were all the rage it was either Pioneer or Alpine on the rear parcel shelf lol. Showing my age now.

I would get an amp on the fronts and add a pair of L7 tweeters.
Then set the crossover so nothing below 100hz gets through to the fronts and the sub does everything below 100hz, this would allow you to drive the speakers hard and loud without them falling down.

Should have really added a 3 channel amp, this would have driven the fronts and the sub from one unit.

However, Maybe look at something like the Vibe Litebox Stereo 2 now you have the sub amp, it is around £160 and is very good.
Or try and find a Genesis ST100 used, these are around £400 new but go for around £150 used and sound sweet as a nut, plus they are tiny and fit under the boot floor.
Needs to be a series 3 as the earlier ones didn't have a crossover on them and you need that.

No point adding decent speakers to crap amps, it will sound even worse.
