Easy DIY Front Plate Bracket Using Tow Hook - Under $4
I thought I would just post up a simple DIY for a temporary plate solution that is very cheap. All parts were purchased at Lowes and total cost was under $4. I just took along my tow hook to make sure the clamp would fit. All you need is the rope clamp, Steel L bracket that is exact length of licence plate (no cutting!). Just verify that the clamp fits on your tow hook and fits into the L bracket's holes, get a few locking washers, nuts, and bolts and you're good to go.
In the pics you will see that you may need to position the clamp just right to allow the tow hook to clear the license plate and be at the proper angle. The nice thing is that you can adjust the bracket left or right depending on your taste. You can also mount the L bracket upside down if you want the plate to sit even further up. Just be sure to tighten everything up so it feels solid. Enjoy. |
