Setting confirmation signals on E92 (locking and unlocking)
No RTFM responses please as I am looking at the FM right in front of me as I type this (page 20 to be exact).
On my new E92 335i, I do not see the option that allows me to select a "acoustic signal" to confirm the locking and unlocking via the key fob when I program the fob via the turn indicator stalk. I only have the option of having the lights flash me. Does this acoustic signal require the alarm (which I do not have)? Can anyone let me know if they have this option avaiable to them on the E92? I really miss not having the car bark at me when I lock it remotely. |

Wow...no alarm?
I guess I just assumed an alarm/security system was standard on a vehicle in this class. That blows me away that there isn't one.
I need to get on this right away. Anyone had an OEM alarm installed and how much did it cost? Thanks!

+1, even if the alarm goes off, no one cares, because we're so used to sensitive car alarms going off

I like the audible feedback when locking/unlocking doors. If I have my car parked outside my house, friends house, etc, a siren would definitely tip me off to go investigate. I had my stero stlen in the past while at my friend's house. A siren would have prevented the theft. Same thing when your car is being towed and you are within an earshot. The panic feature could also be very usable or nice to have (especially for my wife). Finally, I have more than once used my remote & alarm in the past to locate my car in a crowded parking lot. Don't get me wrong, its not a deal breaker, just annoying and should be included in a high end car. Btw, if anybody is curious, called the dealer. An OEM alarm installed with tax is $525.00
