Any instructions on how to install downpipes?

I left my car with my mechanic (he is also my brother in law) and he was able to fit the Helix intercooler without a problem.
But when it came to the downpipe install, he gave up.
He said that he just couldn't get his big fat hands up in there to undo stuff.
He is thinking that he needs to drop the 'k-frame' and spend the whole day doing it.
Does anyone know just how it is done?
The DIY I found is for LHD, which is much easier to install.
