Lowering my Non-sport E90

Hi guys,

Does anyone have advice for me on lowering my E90 without having the motorplan cancelled. Are there any guys who have done this & still on motorplan? Whilst reading through the threads I see the Eibach pro-kit to be my best choice but I'm concerned with the dealer having issues with it. By the way my reason for wanting to lower the suspension is that I changed my orignal bodykit to that of the M-tech sport & added a set of 19's but now it looks incomplete without a subtle drop.

I understand that to some this question may seem stupid since as soon as you touch the suspension the warranty falls away but instead of giving up I've chosen to give this a try.

Thanks in advance

I'd love to but dealer wants R18,000 close to $3,000 US.

I've brought my car in for service with the springs on they've haven't mentioned much. But basically though from my understanding is that if you have any issues with the car and you bring it in for service and the dealership can trace it back to you lowering the car, ie. tires thinning on the inside if you don't get an aligenment after lowering the car or shocks going out, the dealership will make you pay out of your pocket and will not be covered under warranty.

On a better note Eibach has some nice comfortable springs, loved them when I had them on my last car.

hope this helps, am sure others will chime in with some more added advice

You should be fine. It all depends on the dealership mostly.

If you're just going to go with stiffer/lower springs w/o upgraded shocks...just note that your oem shocks will wear our significantly faster, they won't blow overnight but isntead of lasting 100k miles it'll last maybe 60-70k miles.

If you go with a coilover set up, the coils will have their own warranty so the bmw warranty isn't as much of a big deal.
