Tyre Shine

Can anyone recommend some decent long lasting tyre shine? I currently use BMW's own brand but i find that its not long lasting. Ive had a look at Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Gel, but not sure if this is any good or just hype?

I use the Meg's stuff and it really is very good and a bottle lasts for ages, a lot longer than the spray on type ones. Just use a small amount on a cloth. Works best on dry tyres and as it is not being sprayed on, does not get all over the rims

I love Meguiars Hot Tire Shine has worked great for me. You can adjust the width that it sprays too which makes it nice for low profile tires.

If you can get some Meguiars hyper dressing. They come in us gallon sizes, the product lasts for ages on you tyres and because very little product goes a long way, it is excellent value for money as well.

Does anyone else think cars with shiny tyres look a bit "used car dealer?"

I like them clean but not shiny.

Another vote for Meguiars Gold Class Endurance Tyre Gel. Lasts ages.

Used liberally it leaves tyres looking clean and deep black but not 'used car dealer shiny'.

I would by a tyre dresser when you order (think it was a quid on the site I ordered from). Basically just a piece of foam in plastic but really useful for applying on the tyres.

I bought one and it only lasted a couple of months before the sponge came away from the handle

Now resorted to an old micro-fibre cloth that gets stored with the gel bottle and re-used every time.

My sponge comes away from the handle, by design though I thought. I can wash it easier that way after i've used it.

Turtle Wax wet look or something similar. It's OK, nothing special, not overly keen on spending ££'s on tyre dressing.

I've still got some BMW and Supaguard tyre dresser, both seem ok but you lot seem to be pleased with the meguiars product. What I've found with the ones I've currently got is that snowfoaming seems to really remove the tyre dressing. Is the meguiars product more resistant to snowfoaming and power washing?

As for applying the stuff, I bought some cheap thing from halfrauds specifically designed for the job and it works a treat, especially on low profile tyres.

I don't use snow foam but yes it's a lot more resitant to washing off than the likes of the turtle wax spray, I've also skipped a few wash before re-applying and the tyres retain the really black look fairly well. As for applying it I just cut a sponge up, squeeze some out the bottle on it then rub it on the trye, just make sure you remove any excess otherwise it will spray up the bodywork.

If you are looking for a less 'bling bling' boy racer tyre, I suggest a Armour All tyre foam, gives a good shine and unike the others that just shine, this one helps to keep the tyre is good condition, removes dirt and 'moisturise' the tyre. surely enhance the life ???

I like to think of my tyres like my skin, moisturise and treat well, unless its the weekend, then, rag the shit out of it and worry later........ PS, I have been drinking, a little.
