New Guy With Run Flat Troubles..
Hello everyone! I just got my first bmw, 2006 325i. Ive had it for less than a month and have already replaced the tires. Ive been browsing these forums for ever and have noticed the overwhelming disgust with the RFTs. I knew it was a matter of time before id have to replace one of them. The other night driving home the light came on and i was like greaatttt. I decided to replace all four tires with some regular tires and I love them! So now my question is, any socal members want to buy my other 3 run flats? haha. they are 16". only got 10K miles on them and ill let em go for a whole lot less than the dealer ;D |

Have you noticed any difference in handling with non-RFTs?

I swapped over to normal tires and OMG i hate them the first few weeks the sidewalls folds too much for my liking. It took me a while to get used to them but there not that bad. I love a rough ride and sorta miss my old crappy RFT... my only complaint w/ them was the noise when i had them

Hi just want to ask you what tires did you use as replacement?you mean you are still using your old rims which were fitted with RFTs?I was contemplating on changing to non-RFTs also, the dealer told me that my rims were specially designed for RFTs and that i can't use them with regular non-RFTs.Is this true?

I put my ruin-flat tires up in the garage attic. I'll reinstall them in four years when it is time to upgrade to a new car.

I replaced my 16" RFT's with 17" Dunlop SP Wintersport 3D non RFT's for the winter. Even though they are winter tires, they provide much sharper and secure handling than the RFT's. They are quieter and smoother too. I'll buy a set of non-RFT summer performance tires in the spring. The RFT's and the wheels are in my basement until the end of the lease.
