I just heard through the grapevine that the M1 may be "Previewed" in June of 2010. Note: This is not the sale date, but the date we will see the actual car.

Well.. if you get the 2011 version if thats the case the kinks and so called upgrades may benefit you..

Why?? It gives a chance for the financing rates and list price (or gouge) to settle down from the release buzz.

Main thing is jealousy, I dont want to see one on the road and have to wait. But you are right the rates will go down the longer its out.

I'll be shocked if it's that soon. If anything that might be the date they start taking orders for them. I'm betting the earliest we see this car in the US will be January of '11, and probably more realistically in the spring.

For them to be able to have them on the lots here that soon, they would have had to already have the design work finalized, and the production tooling in the works for at least a couple of months. It's hard to imagine that the program got that far along with this little information leaked.

I agree. We haven't even seen an "M1 Concept" yet. This thing is definitely 1Q '11 at least.

There is no way in hell if I had to guess. I could see an "is" version though. First quarter of 2011 IMO.

Let me put it that way: It wouldn't be the first car being announced only some months after a concept version was shown. They did the same for both the M5 and the M3.

That makes more sense, but typically when you say "released" people are going to assume you meant to the public for sale. "Officially unveiled" is probably a better term for it.

Hopefully wew ill see a concept of M1 @ Geneva in March.. BMW concepts are pretty much production body most of the time.

Official concept unveiling at the Paris motor show in october 2010, and unveiling of the ''real car'' at the Geneva car show in 2011, and then on sale in April 2011, here in Europe and in the US!!
