BMW smooth d engine
Was very bored yesterday so balanced a Euro on my engine while it was running...quite impressive for a diesel...have a look...

I have seen this done with Jaguars old V12, which wast probably the smoothest engine of its day. You could very gently raise the revs without it falling over.

Yes its hard to believe it actually stays there!...its about to tip over but stays in place...just goes to show how balanced and well engineered the engines are!

With the bonet open yes, but I've been amazed at the sound coming out of mine, any person I take out in it who's not had a ride before has to experince a booting with all the windows open, sounds glorious
People tip me more as well when I do that |

The video camera does nothing to make the engine sound nice.

They sound better under load, quite a nice powerful engine noise.
But at idle you really can hear diesel clatter, even with the bonnet and windows shut. Cracking engines though and amazingly refined given that they use the devils fuel. |

I think it depends on the camera, mine seems to pick up too much noise...rather than sound...if that makes any sense! also the best sounds seem to be when driving with the window down you can hear the 'charger whoosing and doing its bit!

Yeah, I agree Shane, the in gear tune the engine produces is wonderful. I find myself driving with the window cracked open sometimes!!!!!!
