Routine service besides recommended times?

Dear All,

Just wondering whether there is a need to have routine oil changes/filter changes besides the times recommended by BMW - ie. more often than once/year?

If so, any good garages to recommend? or should I go back to BMWHK?

Someone said better change engine oil and filter on every 5,000 kms, but I think 7,500 kms are fine, just it's all depending on how you drive your car.

Good question, I remember, with the old bimmers, service intervals were quite long, but now with the current generation, intervals are getting shorter and shorter. I sometimes wonder whether the car really need the checkup or is bmw is just trying to charge us more for un-necessary service, haha.
