BMW 320d M Sport

Guys I have just over 4 weeks until I get my hands on my new car. An impulse buy without having test driven the car. I based my choice on the motoring authorities and the figures. I am coming from an Audi A3 1.4 TFSi.

Please tell me what I can expect from the car. Is it really as good to drive as they say it is? Is the performance good for a 2.0 diesel unit? I want you to tell me as much as possible about my new car and my choice. Please give me the info!

THE WAIT IS KILLING ME!

I have a 59reg 320d m-sport which I selected after test driving the A4, C-class and XF. IMO the 320d m-sport was the pick of the bunch!
My previous motor was a 55 reg 320i SE and I can say that the ride and cornering was not as good as the 320d m-sport. IMO, whatever others say about the ride of the M-sport suspension, I thought it superior to the SE. It's ride over manholes and ridges in the road is much better.
I enjoy every minute of driving my 320d m-sport. On a nice day I have been known to go the long way round to destinations! Well why not?
All the very best with your's. I am sure you will enjoy it!

I came from a Honda Accord to a 320d BMW and this was my first diesel and BMW. I love it to be honest and the torque is lovely especially with a spider tuning box on it. You wont be disapointed.

PS..love the user name BTW..good result for us yesterday!!

I can't give anymore praise for the 2.0 diesel engine, working in the dealer I get chance to drive a fair amount of equivalent engines from other manufacturers and have to say most don't even come close with regards to power torque etc. This is my first diesel and coming from a 350Z and I was getting prepared for a massive difference in performance but in normal driving conditions it doesn't actually feel that vast. As already mentioned the dynamics of the car are A+.

The only 2.0 diesel engine I think is better is the twin-turbo unit in the 123d and LCI Alpina D3!

Congrats you won't be disappointed

I went from an A3 TDI, which I thought handled well and was pretty quick. Since getting a new 320d my eyes have really been opened. Best thing I ever did!
Handling, performance and quality is 100% better. Rear wheel drive on a slippery surface can be interesting but it really helps your driving style.
Congrats on the purchase

320d M Sport "LCI" here.

Took delivery on the 1st of March and have since done 17,500 miles.

Car still doesnt want a service for over 3k.

Average fuel consumption (without trying) for the whole time I have had it: 49.5mpg.

It really is a great all round car - never feel I am short on power. Love the new professional navigation, and also Logic7.

Only issue has been Bluetooth (which may be the phone), and an initial hissy fit of the electronics due to a loose earth strap.
